As "Cellular Sales" gave themselves a 5 star review on my behalf, I felt the need to update it based on reality. This is not a Verizon Store like you'd think it is based on its signage. It is an authorized Verizon retailer. Nowhere does it mention this, unless you go all the way to the back of the store and know where to look. Our entire experience with this place was horrible. It was a Saturday in a crowded mall, and we constantly had to ask the sales rep to repeat what he was saying. We were upgrading to the new Pixel 2 phones from old Samsung Galaxy phones. The rep couldn't answer any specific questions regarding the devices, only repeating sales verbage that is already listed on the website. There was 15 minutes of him handing over the phone, having us enter info or a password, then he'd take the phone back. Finally the phones were programmed. We got our receipts and left. One more moment in their store and I'd have snapped. I told my mother I'd teach her how to use the phone, and we left. The final thing we were told was that we had 14 days to decide if we liked and wanted to keep the phones, no questions asked. Later that night my device started having problems. Searching online I found out that the Pixel 2 XL has several hardware and software issues. My text messages duped themselves, leaving 2 and 3 copies of each message in my inbox. The device doesn't record sound properly, it uses the incorrect mic and cuts in and out. Something with the WiFi caused my 5ghz channel on my router to reset after 30-60 minutes of connectivity. Holding the phone normally to text, your pinky finger lands directly on the USB-C port. After about 2 hours of use I had already developed small cuts on the sides of both pinkies. The nail in the coffin for the 2 XL came when I tried to take a screenshot and actually cut my finger. Upon inspection the corners of the back glass were cracked, an obvious result of the rough handling by the sales rep. That Monday I went to the Verizon Store near my house. I had decided that I would trade the XL in for a standard Pixel 2. My mom, the least technically inclined person I know, was loving hers. I told the rep in the store my story, and was immediately given bad news. Since the store we did our business at wasn't a corporate store, we'd have to return the device there, and any and all future business related to the devices would have to be done with their store only. The return was as bad if not worse than the purchase experience. There were no customers in the store, allowing the rep to devote 100% of his effort toward being ignorant. He talked down towards my mom & me, with a rude-sarcastic mix of talk. He doubted and questioned every word we spoke. You could tell he was more concerned about losing a sale than providing customer service. The return process took longer than the purchase. We also discovered that the initial sales rep placed us on a different plan than we thought we would be on, added full insurance on both devices, among other one time charges as well. We expected our bill to rise about $40/month due to device costs, however our bill went from roughly $100/month for us both to $227/month. It's been 6 days since the return. There are still two $30 upgrade charges on the account, even though we are not longer upgraded nor we're we told we'd have a charge to begin with. The insurance charges are still on the account for devices we don't even own. The plan is still wrong as well. At the moment we're both using Samsung Galaxy S4s. It's going to take weeks to get this straightened out completely. By the time it's safe to consider upgrading again the discounts on the devices will have expired. Unless we get lucky, we'll likely end up paying twice as much for the same devices. All thanks to Cellular Sales, an authorized Verizon retailer. Avoid them like the plague
